Think About It, Thursday

“The love of a family is
life's greatest blessing”

This quote is so so true...
I love both mine and Heath's families so much and they really
are the greatest blessing, besides my Saviour and Heath,
and I don't know what we would do without them...
Speaking of family, my cousin Travis has always been very
special to me and my immediate family.
We are very proud of him and his decision to serve
our country in the U.S. Army!
When we found out he would be stationed in Germany,
we knew that it would be tough especially for his
momma and sister, but we also knew
that Jesus would constantly protect and watch
over him.  And that... Jesus has done for sure!
Especially in getting him home to all of us for Christmas!
With the inclement weather, cancelled flights etc.
we just thought Travis being home for Christmas just wasn't
going to work out..

But..
 They Did!!!

The Lord is so good and worked out everything to the good, just
like He promises in Romans 8:28
While Travis was playing and singing for us,
I was reminded of that verse more than ever.

We are so proud of you Travis and I'm so
blessed to have you as a cousin and a friend.
I know that Jesus is going to continue to
Romans 8:28 in your life forever more!

Think About It, Thursday

Jesus was born in a Manger so
that we one day could live in a Mansion in Heaven.

I believe this is one of the true lessons and meanings of Christmas:
to put others before you and have the LOVE
of Christ and others, overcome your wants and desires.
May Christ's life be a true example of our
hearts and spirits this Christmas season and always :)

"just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 20:28

Blue Lights

When we think about or see blue lights, our stomach turns to knots...
Well, I have a story.
I travel Corridor X Mon-Fri for work and I know speeding just a tad is not cool...
But, I'm guilty... I was going just a tad over the speed limit Friday
and I looked down at my Ipod for a split second and the next thing I know
is once I'm over a hill I see the silver S.T. car in the
median.  I was going like 10 MPH (or so) over the speed limit and
my stomach started doing flips.I noticed there was a truck behind me and
they were speeding too but I had just gotten over in the lane in front of the
truck right when I noticed the state trooper...
The only thing I could do was PRAY and tell the Lord I needed him now..
I know, speeding is not good at all but we are sinners and yes I made a boo boo...
So I just started praying and I even prepared to pull over by getting in the far
left lane right after the truck behind me did.  I was prepared and knew right then and there that I had learned my lesson, to slow down!!
Well, the S.T. pulled over the truck behind me and
I was like what??!!  I was before the truck but had just gotten over in front of the
truck like a quick second after the S.T. could have seen the white truck..
I just started praising the Lord... (and I was sad for the truck though)
Second part of the story:  I received a box of scriptures about a year ago from
an amazing Christian woman and I try to read one each day on the way to work.
At this point I hadn't read my scripture for the day so I thought ok,
I think it's about time to read it today...
So I pulled the scripture out and it was:

Romans 10:13

13 for, “Everyone who calls on the
name of the Lord will be saved.”[a]

WOW is all I could say...

I thought about how I had called on the Lord just minutes

prior and surely I was saved...
I began to think about all of the other times when I had "Blue Lights"

in my life and the Lord came down and saved me right then and there.

He covered me in His grace & love and I surely learned my lesson

about a lot of things several times.  Lessons very similar to the one

learned on Friday:  to slow down and to always keep in

check that God is  "driving" and in control of your life.

We all have "blue lights" in our lives.  Times when our sinful nature

takes over and we know we messed up but we know we have a LOVING God

that has an abundance of GRACE to give to us and forgive us.

No matter what is going on in your life today or any day,

always keep in mind Romans 10:13.

Because according to another one of my all time FAV verses:

"Our God is MIGHTY to save"

Zephaniah 3:17

Think About It, Thursday

When I think about my blessings,
this group of young people in the picture below,
are very close to being at the top of my list!

This group has my heart.
The kiddos you see pictured here (with a few missing)
are all amazing kids with a beautiful spirit.
This group is kind of like an ice cream sundae in my life...
All different flavors and unique, but together they are the best!
Of course our cherry on the top is Jesus :)

Hope you had a very blessed Thursday!!

"Baby It's Cold Outside"

but never too cold to watch sweet Hannah
ride in the Christmas Parade!!  So proud of her!
**Tip, never wear patterned tights (that have holes in them)
on days like today :)  Just thought that may be a bit of help to you all lol.

Think About It, Thursday

"pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead.
hmmm... I can think of no better example of paying it forward than Jesus dying on the cross for us.

His dying on the cross  ='ed us having eternal life.  He PAID the ultimate price forward, therefore we need to keep paying his love forward to people in our life daily, from friends to strangers.  I am challenging myself to this because with my new job, I meet new people every day.  I am going to try paying it forward asap to a stranger that God gives me the divine appointment to come across.  We are to learn and lead by example and I can't think of a better one that he gave us and for a better thing for Christians can do than to pay it forward.

Jesus started this wonderful idea and I'm pretty sure He isn't asking anyone
to finish it, but to keep it going.
Will you?

Think About It, Thursday

"Complaining is to the devil like Praise is to the Lord"

I read this tonight on one of my friends updates and
thought hmmm that IS something to think about...

I hope you all are having a wonderful week and speaking of PRAISE...
I would like to praise God for my wonderful new job!!
I have some of the BEST coworkers (shout out to you esp. Trina) and supervisors!!
Two of my supervisors even got me a sweet gift basket with all kinds
of goodies to welcome
me aboard!!  I nearly cried.  I am loving this new
adventure that the Lord has for me and I know
it's exactly where He wants me right now for
several different reasons :)
GOD IS SO GOOD...
Stay tuned for more updates on this new endeavor :)
I'm thinking you may see some future posts entitled
