I have always loved pearls. I feel like they represent purity

and heaven. I feel like when we get to heaven one day,

pearls will be everywhere :)

According to the dictionary...

the word pearl has become a metaphor for something very rare, fine, admirable, and valuable.

Well, I know many of you have heard of the movie Courageous.

It's amazing and if you haven't watched it, GO!!!
Heath and I went to see it back in November.

(if you haven't watched it, I'm about to tell a small part of the movie)

There is a section of the movie where one of the father's takes his teenage

daughter on a daddy/daughter date and gives her a promise ring.

A ring to represent her promise to wait on the

man of God that she will meet one day and not to ever

settle for anything less. He let her know how valuable she is

and how much he loved her :)

Well.... as soon as we leave the movie, Heath and I are both

sobbing and he says that he wants to do that with LL one day.

Talk about sobbing even more when he said that!!!

So... when it came to picking out what I would like to have as

a present for having LL, it became pretty clear...

Let me back track a bit first though...

My first engagement ring, I loved, but I found a different setting

that I really fell in love with and Heath took my diamond from my first one

and put it in the new setting for our 2nd Christmas. So, that left us with

the first setting. We had already decided that we would like to have

something put in the setting to pass down to our children one day.

So... this also became clear on the future promise ring for LL :)

This is my first engagement setting and what will be used for LL's

promise ring, we will have a pearl placed in this setting.

This will be given to her and all explained to her on either

her twelfth or thirteenth birthday.

On a date with daddy of course :)

Now, back to my gift for having LL...

We had talked about getting her birthstone ring for my gift but

after the movie and with the Lord laying the verses above on

my heart AND my love for pearls... it was clear for me

to get a pearl ring! :)

Here is a picture of the final product.. It took me lots of hours &

even one swap trying to find the "just right" one.

Here is my find though and I just love it!!!

We want Laura Leigh to know that she, just like a pearl,

has value and she is precious and worth being sought after &

to never settle for anything less than what Jesus has for her

for everything and area in her life.

Just like the verse above, one day, when Jesus

has the man of God ready for her,

(hopefully when she is at least 25 haha)

he will seek her and realize her value and

will do whatever it takes to show

her the value she possess as a child of God

and to honor her and that.

Special thanks to our Jesus for putting all of this

on our hearts and for having it all come together. When I

say all coming together, I mean for also sending me my

man of God that values me and my relationship

with Christ as well and then together

made it possible to be blessed with the greatest

love of all besides the love of Christ...

An answer to a question I get A LOT

Probably several times a week, I get asked the question,

"Why do you have Laura Leigh's name or initials on everything,

you won't be able to resale it or pass it down"

I know, I know, I am a Monogram FANATIC.. I admit.

But, I love it and wouldn't have it any other way!!! I have always

loved baby/children's clothing with monogram, applique and initials!

I think it makes the clothing different, personal and unique :)

But.. in answer to the question what will you do with all of it??!!

Here ya go!!!

I have LOVED this idea for the longest time now and how special

will this be to Laura Leigh one day!! To have a quilt that she can keep

FOREVER made out of her special baby clothing!!

I would much rather do this than

to sell the clothing for not even half of what I paid for it.

She will have this to show her children and her grandchildren :)

In a couple/few years down the road

once I pick out my favorites of hers and get the quilt made,

I will be sure to do a follow up post about it!!

Outings

LL hasn't been out and about too much since she has been born because

those were her pediatrician's orders and advice from the beginning. We haven't

even gotten her out to church yet because he said that we should for sure wait

at least 2 months before doing that. Although, I think we may take her to church

a little sooner than 2 months... it all depends on the weather.

This past Sunday though was her first trip of many to her MiMi & Pops house

and she loved it!

She didn't cry a peep and smiled the whole time through.

Which she was pretty much held the whole time by her MiMi & Pop or her

cousin Ju Bugg, so LL was in heaven.

I guess she even loves the nickname he has deemed her too: Lou Lou)

This Saturday, she will be taking a

big outing to the Florence area to meet some of her Great Aunts and new baby

cousin!! We are excited! Tomorrow we have her newborn pictures being made

at HMP Studios in Moulton and I really can't wait for that! I have had her session

booked since the first of October because I just love Heather's work! We have

to drive to Moulton but it's worth it! Other than the doctor, that's really all of LL's

outings for now! I will be sure to post pictures from this Saturday and also let you

know how her newborn session goes tomorrow!! Have a great day!

The Love that I have for this child is unexplainable and indescribable.

I am sure that all of you that have children know what I'm talking about...

There is NO greater feeling in the world except for knowing that we are loved

the same way by our parents and EVEN greater by our heavenly father.

So many people told me that once you have a child,

you get a true glimpse into the LOVE

of Christ and they were all so right...

I would lay down my life for Laura Leigh, I only want the best for her, I

want to see her live out her FULL potential here on earth that Jesus has for her.

All of these things and so much more do I feel for her and Jesus feels and wants for

us too. So, if you ever feel alone or like no one cares, this is so not true.

I know that Jesus' love for us is even greater than the way that I love LL

so that is a TON... So He loves us all a TON x's a TON.

I pray that you feel

and experience this love of Christ each day. Jesus, along with my child and husband

are the GREATEST gifts and LOVE that I have ever felt in my entire life...
I'm sure all of you that have Jesus in your hearts can agree!!

We took our precious LL for her 2 wk appointment today!

She now weighs 7 lbs and 14 ozs and is 20 inches long!

She is the sweetest thing and just lights up our lives...

She LOVES being rocked and for you to sing to her!

Jesus Loves Me is one of her favorite songs and so Is the Bluebird Song

that my mom sang to me and her mom sang to her :)

We love our little Angel and every day is such a huge blessing with her

in it for sure!! We praise you Jesus for our LL!!

New Year

I didn't have a chance to post my New Year's "Goals" for 2012.

Here they are...

1. To follow after Jesus more than ever before and to draw closer and closer to him. Dive deeper

into his word! I believe being as close and in love with the Lord will help with any other goal

listed under this one...

2. To be the best Christian wife and mommy that I can be!!!

3. To give everything to the Lord with Prayer and Supplication. Anything that may happen

in life or anything that someone may say that I don't know what to do, I turn to

the Lord and give it to HIM, rather than handling it myself or by going to others.

The Lord fights for us and it's not our battle and He is ALL knowing so this is

why we need to just go ahead and hand it over to JESUS because that's

the best place for it!

4. To love and see others ie strangers, friends, anyone, more in the way that Jesus does.

To have more compassion and strength to help in the way the Lord has called me to.

5. To finish everything that I start. I am so bad to start a book or a craft project

and totally lose focus and start up doing something else.

Oh and P.S. To have a waist the size of Kate Middleton! ha! We can dream right :)

I pray that you are in pursuit of the goals that your Lord has put on your heart!

I pray that I will work at my goals the best I can through HIS strength, grace and love :)

Our new family of four (Coco couldn't make it to St. Vincents :) )

Our ANGEL BABY is HERE!!!

We have been busy soaking up EVERY second with this precious girl

so I'm sorry I haven't got to post this sooner...

Laura Leigh Franks was born on 12.28.11 at 3:24 PM and

at that moment our hearts were captured.

NO explanation can tell y'all the love we have for her, except

for the way JESUS loves us, unconditionally and abundantly.

We love you Laura Leigh and will love you for forever

and spend our days focused on you and with sharing the love

of Christ with you. We are SO blessed to be your mommy & daddy!!!

So this morning my sweet hubby sends me this picture on my work email and says

"This will be Laura Leigh this time next year"

Y'all pray for me lol. I do think it's sweet though that he will want to spend so much

time with her because I know he will... If LL and Heath are anything like Heath and

his dad, they will be best friends :) I would love that so much and pray that they will

and will always have a very close relationship! I guess I'm fine with the fact

that he will take her hunting but not as early as one year old, sorry Heath!!

He already has a gun to give her and her Pop, Heath's dad, has

already got a shooting house in the works for her. So if she loves

hunting in the least bit, she will be set!

Last February I was asked to join Marion/Winston County Community Action

as an Intake Counselor. This job has been such a blessing by not only the ways

I get to be a part of helping out in the community but by the wonderful co-workers

that I have met and established relationships with... The people pictured above

have THE biggest hearts. I am VERY appreciative for each of them and we just

have the best time at work.

I really don't feel like it's a "job" but doing something that

I love. Of course we have our days when we are like wow this was a day! But I really don't

know of many work places that doesn't have some of those "crazy" days. I am saying all of this

to let you know what kind of job and co-workers I have been blessed by and to let you

know about how they blessed Heath and I with some of the sweetest gifts, by surprise,
for our sweet baby girl last week while eating at one of our
favorite restaurants in Double Springs. Thank you

to each of you and you all have a very special place in my heart!!
Looking forward to all of the other milestones we will all go through together in life!

This came up on the internet the other day via The Basement.

I really never thought about "Protecting" my Joy but it's so true...

YOU HAVE TO!!

There are people out there that are not filled with the Love of God

or that are not walking in His spirit that will try their best at ANY

rate, to steal your JOY...

They may not even have ANY reason in particular other

than they see your happiness and JOY that JESUS gave you

and they are so filled with other things besides that,

that they want to see you sad and filled with nonsense too instead.

When you don't protect your joy and you let someone steal it,

then you become weak. Weak in the enemies LIES & SCHEMES.

Weak to letting the enemy come all up into your life and filling

it with all things that make your life miserable and cause

you NOT to be a witness to the Lord.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,

against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and

against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Ephesians 6:12

Remember, it's not the person that is trying to steal your joy,

it's the work at the enemy in them. PRAY for that person and just

keep showing the LOVE and kindness of CHRIST.

PROTECT that JOY like you would your most

valued possessions from a thief. Because actually,

that is what the enemy is, a thief...

The picture above is from a Small Group that some of us

led out in Moody, AL for a couple of years back in like 2007-2009.

We talked about how important it was to always have on your armor

of God because their was a certain fight out there each day...

Notice the shields that we had up against that oh mean

devil that we knew we had to keep up daily!!

(I love looking back at these girls to think of where they are today.

Several of them are leading Bible studies on their college

campuses or leading the way for Jesus on the mission field.)

So if you have kind of been feeling weak here lately,

think about who you have let steal your Joy and if

you have prayed and kept on your armor. I know I have

had to and the Lord has restored my strength and I have

my JOY on Lock Down like never before. I hope

your's is too because that is what the Lord wants for us ALL!!!

This Christmas

This time of the year, I'm sure we all have some of our favorite Christmas Songs

that we love to hear. Well, one of my all time favorites is Mary Did You Know

and A Baby Changes Everything is of course a new fav this year :).

Love those songs and everything about them..

Well, Heath and I received a Christmas card from one of my FAVORITE

ladies in the town of Guin, Ms. Marguerite and she stated that she knows

that we can related to the excitement that Mary & Joseph had around this time,

many years ago... a new arrival of a sweet baby & for them

the anticipation of the KING OF KINGS, JESUS!!

That really struck my heart... Don't get me wrong, Heath and I are VERY

excited about the arrival of our precious daughter but to be honest, I sometimes get so

caught up in making sure she has the right coming home outfit, that all in the nursery is

in order and that I have our suite case ready that sometimes I don't just stop and relish to think

that we are about to have a BABY GIRL that Jesus himself made in my womb...

I don't sit back to think about "Heath and Kimberly did you know" Do we really know

just how great the plans are that Jesus has for our precious Angel. This all can go with the

getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of all things Christmas besides the TRUE meaning.
Does it really matter if we get the newest Kindle that we will be tired of in a year?

So, from this point on, if her socks match her bow and if I have bows on all the presents, is

out the door!! I'm going to just think on what really matters right now and it's JESUS
and celebrating HIM and His birth and ALL of the many ways
that he loves us and has lavished His love on us.

Also, just to focus on our sweet baby and only her...
Just looking forward to EACH precious second that we will have with her

from her birth onto in life.
THAT is THE BIGGEST GIFT besides salvation that JESUS has

provided for each of us.

I am so excited that our sweet baby will change everything for us

and I pray and know that she was born "for such a time as this" and will

change peoples hearts for Jesus throughout her life, even starting at birth.

How can someone not look at a sweet baby and realize what's important

and who should be the most important person in our lives, Jesus...

I Love you so much already our sweet daughter and I really don't know all

of the wonderful plans that God already has for you but I know HE does

and they are GREAT and I pray as your mother that be my number one

focus is to help lead you to those plans and that Heath and I not let

anything or anyone keep us off track of that. We LOVE YOU and

you will change our everything :)

This Week End

Labor and Delivery Classes at St. Vincents. I am very

our God is!! WOW, how HE has blessed our family this year!!

I know one thing that can top this is when I'm sitting here next year

typing this while looking over seeing our baby girl smiling :)

Today I am thankful for my wonderful husband Heath...

I love him with all of my heart and my pregnancy hormones haha

He is an amazing guy to put up with me for the past 8 months.

I LOVE him so much though and I can't wait to see what an wonderful

and Christian father he will be to Laura Leigh. He leads our marriage

in the Lord and also in laughter. Laughter meaning he brings so much

joy and fun to my life. I never know what he will say next or when he

will break out in a dance move.

Some people may see him as quiet and laid back

but I see him as a silent servant. Always willing to serve on the Lord's behalf

without receiving any praise and giving it all to God. He is a behind the scenes

kind of guy and has one of the biggest hearts out of anybody I know.

Laura Leigh, you have a great dad chosen for you by God and Jesus thank

you for choosing him to be my husband :) I love you Heath!!

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!

Today, I am thankful for SISTERS...

I was never blessed with a Biological sister so that's why God

gave me my Best Friends. I don't even have to name them because

they know who they are...

The ones that are there for me through EVERYTHING.

To celebrate, to rejoice, to lend an ear and advice or a shoulder to cry on.

Through the good times and the bad.

A couple I have had since middle school, some since college and Birmingham

and along the way.

I love EACH of you dearly and I am SO thankful for y'all today more than

you will ever know for several different reasons...

Diaper Bag Decision...

After a long search, I have finally decided on a Diaper Bag!

I know y'all are thinking, wow, really that's SUCH a big decision, lol.

I know I know but anyway...

Yesterday, I ordered the diaper bag below from this CUTE shop in Gadsden

that I discovered on Facebook by the sweet Heather Bellew.

Some of her relatives own this store and that is how I stumbled

upon their Facebook Page. I LOVE it and if you try to find it

online, it's sold out... So they put it in the mail to me and I should be

getting it soon! The color looks kind of different than this picture.

The color is champagne.

For the longest time I thought I wanted this diaper bag below....

It's by Timi & Leslie and is SO cute too...

But the more I thought about it, on into the Spring & Summer it would

kind of be dull. Also, the strap is kind of shorter and may be a struggle

to keep around my shoulder. So I think I made the right decision.

I'm about to be 32 weeks!!!!!!!! Ahhhh It's getting so close!

And hear a loud noise in around 8-9 wks, it's just me :)

Once my sweet hubby doses off on the couch each night,
it takes an Army of 100 to wake him up!

So I came up with a plan last night. To buy an Air Horn!!

I can yell his name LOUD 10 times and he

still not wake up!! No lie!! So... In thinking about when
"it's time" to go to the hospital to have our sweet

baby, I had to come up with a plan just in case he is asleep and I think this
should work! So, if anyone would like to donate one

to our household, feel free to! I will probably

need a few extra for backup!

Speaking of plans...

I have compiled our Hospital Visit Needs List.
I have what L.L. needs, what Heath needs and what I need.
Over the next few wks, we will begin packing all of this so we
are ready to go whenever Jesus gets her ready to come here with us!
It's pretty long but just as long as we leave St. Vincent's with
her, that's all that matters :)
Do you have anything that you wish you would have taken to the hospital
with you? If so leave me a comment so I'm sure to maybe take it also!
Remember, Birmingham to Guin isn't too far but it's still a hike.

Laura Leigh's Nursery

Sweet Girl's Nursery is done!

Well, I still have a few small things to do but for the most part it is ready :)

I would like to thank my wonderful hubby, momma,

mother in law and father in law for ALL of their tremendous help!!

I have had several people ask me where I purchased several different

things for her nursery on Facebook and if you would like to know,

I would be more than happy to tell you :)

I will go ahead and tell you about the two main purchases...

Her furniture came from Woodland Furniture in Mississippi.

They are GREAT and very affordable. We currently don't have room

for a glider but once we move this summer, one will be purchased

from Woodland because they have such great deals!

Her bedding was purchased from Polka Tots Designs in Mobile, AL.

They are wonderful to work with too and make up exactly

what you envision! We went ahead and left the walls white

since this will not be her nursery for too too long. I think

when we move, we may paint the walls a brown color

or a blue color! Hope you enjoy her room as much

as we already do. Oh and special thanks of

course to Jesus for being our provider of all things!!

Thanks to my wonderful friends & family at L.L.'s B'ham shower,

she already has lots of reading material for mom & dad to share with her.

Just like any Christian Parent, we want the Bible to be at the top of her

reading list once she can read on her own.

Until then, we will share with her and cover her in scripture

and the promises of the Lord for her sweet life.

The Lord has already spoken several things to me about

Laura Leigh's life for Him and I can't not wait to see

everything unfold. One of my favorite scriptures on my

heart right now is:

On Sunday, October 16th some of my bestest

friends from High School and College and a couple from B'ham :)

had Laura Leigh and I a wonderful baby shower in Birmingham.

Heath and I truly appreciate everything from the bottom of our hearts.

I had a great time and enjoyed spending time with some

amazing people. We love y'all!!

I can't wait to take pictures with my camera

and show y'all L.L.'s nursery! Only a few more

weeks until we are finished, hopefully :)

I just couldn't wait though to show y'all the curtains

that my mom made. I love them and they

were just what I wanted and she saved us a lot

of money by making them for us. Love you momma!!

This picture from my phone just really doesn't do them justice.

I will take a better picture when I take them of the whole room.

She also did a panel for a single window on the side but she

had to hem them just a tad and is bringing them back tomorrow.

The curtains look like a little TuTu with the tulle material fluffed

out on the top :) (can't tell by the picture though)
I thought they went so well with the overall

look of her nursery and her bedding.

Can't wait to show y'all the rest and overall look

of our Baby Girl's nursery!!

Since Valentine's will just be right around the corner from

Laura Leigh's arrival, I had to make sure our

sweet baby has cute Valentine outfits:)

I LOVE the work that Kandace did on this for L.L.!

She does a great job and I hope to keep getting several things made by

her :) I can't wait to pair this with some super cute leg socks and a TuTu!

Laura Leigh attended her first BAMA game (26 wks in the belly)

this past Saturday as we defeated Vandy!!

We had a great time and can't wait to really take her to her first game!

We celebrated one of my Bestest Friends Brandi and her

sweet one of the way, Easton, this past Sunday.

The shower was held at MaryBeth's house. She

is Brandi's sister in law and treats Brandi amazing.

Her house was decorated SO cute for the shower!

We had a GREAT time and had lots of laughs...

This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it

because I know a lot of times I don't see with the Eyes of Jesus...

I see what I want to see and am quick to come to
my own conclusion before I stop to see the way Jesus would...

Youth Group's recent trip to a

Homeless Shelter and Church in Birmingham.

I hope we all SEE and BE today, I know I pray that I do...

I noticed this quote on Pinterest today and totally agree...

I can't wait for our sweet little girl to become one of my very best friends and

for her to become "Daddy's little girl". She has already stolen our hearts

and I know she will even more once she gets here.

My mom and I have always had a very special bond. I have

always been able to tell my mom anything and always count on her

(even if she does run a few minutes late, HA, she always comes through).

She inspires me to do my best, her and daddy always gave me the best

they could and always rejoiced and encouraged in my success.

Most importantly her guidance helped in leading me to my

relationship with the Lord and that I will always cherish.

I hope and pray to be that same kind of wonderful and Godly

mother to Laura Leigh as my mother was and is to me.

I already pray daily for the Lord to grant

Heath and I wisdom on how to raise her in the way HE wants us to.

This little girl has already been promised a wonderful hope and a future

just like all of God's children in Jeremiah 29:11. I pray for the bond

that Heath and I will both have with our sweet little girl. I know fun times

are ahead and I can't wait to see L.L. grow into the child, teenager and

woman of God that Jesus has called her to be.

By not supplying juicy morsels of gossip, by ditching the urge to spread destructive innuendo, and by refusing to keep alive an ugly rumor. Without gossip, the bitterness of a rivalry can dissolve and relationships can mend.

My Prayer...

Forgive me, O God, for the times I have kept gossip alive or have entertained the conversation of a gossip. Please bless and heal those whom I have wounded with my participation in gossip. Give me the strength to say only what is helpful to bless others, the courage to mend the relationships that I have damaged because of reckless words, and the wisdom to know how to discourage those seeking to spread gossip. In Jesus' name I ask it. Amen.

Little Laura Leigh

Just wanted to give some updates on our sweet baby girl.

I had a doctors appointment last Friday (at 22 1/2 wks) and Doctor Davis said,

"Well Kimberly it looks like you have a healthy growing baby on your hands

because you are already measuring at 26 weeks." If your like me, I thought

that meant L.L. would arrive sooner than expected but it just means

she is healthy/growing. Heath and I both weighed over 8 lbs and
I was actually 22 1/2 inches long!! I go back to do my glucose test

and for my next monthly check up next month.

I am 23 weeks this week and I'm also "growing" right along lol

I'm still craving cheese (in any shape, form or fashion),
Strawberry & Orange Fanta, corn dog nuggets
from Cardinal and I'm loving Chick Fil A anytime

I can get my hands on it.

Laura Leigh's Nursery has been at the top of my To-Do list!

I'm hoping to have it 100% completed by the end of October!

We already have her furniture and some accessories.

Her bedding should be coming in in the next week or so and I'm

SO excited to see it!! Stay tuned for pictures toward the end

of October. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!

Step One

Below, are pictures of the First Step of many towards

our future home :) For those of you that do not know,

Heath and I purchased an acre and a half around the first of August.

The land is in Guin about 5 miles from where we currently live.

We know or know of all of the surrounding neighbors and we are super

excited about calling this our future home place :)

Today the land was cleared and Heath & his dad staked off where

our driveway will be. The builder has told us he couldn't start until

January but it's ok because that gives us time to get all of the furnishings picked

out and all. I would like to give a special thanks to Heath and his

dad for all of the work they did after the guy cleared it today!

The picture above is a glimpse into our future/wooded back yard. It backs

up to a farm where you can hear the horses and it's beautiful!

I took CoCo with me and she approved of the land.

She even had 2 new 4 legged friends come up to welcome her.

We think she is going to love it here

I can't wait to update you on all of the following progress :)

Me and one of my co-worker/friends, Amanda, traveled

to Mississippi today after work to a consignment sale.

It was pretty good, not the best one I've been to but

I found two super cute smocked dresses,

a pink Bumbo seat to use at my moms house and a cute red

onezie to get monogrammed for Valentines, all for a good deal!

This cute little find pictured below was purchased right before Laura Leigh
was even known of in March! I bought this at the consignment sale in
Hamilton because I just had a feeling that my first one would be

a girl (before I had the boy instinct when I first got preggo)

Isn't it so super cute! I can't wait to take L.L. shopping with me in this

with some hot pink pants and a big pink bow!

I think these consignment sales are so great and

you find some really good deals for half or more of what's asked retail!

Can't wait til the next one!

I clung to this verse for nearly all of my life...

Most of you know my testimony when it comes to my mom and dad so I will

start with the here lately...

Back in the Spring, my parents were invited to a non-denominational church

in their hometown of Winfield. To make a long story short they LOVED it!!

They are FIRED up for JESUS now and are so involved with one of the

most loving churches that I have ever heard of... They are in a super small church

but have around 70-80 members attend each week and they are GROWING!!

Where the LOVE of Christ is, there his people will be also!!!

Well, last Sunday they invited Heath and I to come be a part of their baptismal.

I don't think I have ever cried more in my LIFE! The Spirit of the Lord

was there SO much... You could feel the Lord all around you.

He is one of the most amazing Pastors that I have ever met.)

This right here is what really got me... A man who spent most of his life addicted to

alcohol coming out from been washed anew by the spirit with his hands up

PRAISING GOD!!!

So for anyone out there that has been praying for a family member or friend to

get saved and truly on FIRE for God...

DON"T STOP BELIEVING!!! God hears your prayers!!!

For the first time in my life, I can call my dad and get solid

and Godly advice with Scripture to back it up. I have waited awhile

for these days and it's SO worth it. I also start crying thinking about

the kind of Godly, supportive, loving & amazing Dad that Laura Leigh is
already going to have and gosh,I just feel so blessed.
God you are SO good and I just praise you

for your MIGHTY works. You NEVER fail us!!!

Small Change...

Ok, so never in a million years did I think that anyone would think

Lara Leigh was pronounced like LAY-RA Leigh. NOOOO!! LOL

I have had some people say oh I love her name LAY-RA Leigh and

I say no, it's LAH-RA Leigh. So... anyways, to prevent

our sweet baby from the confusion in years to come, we will now

spell her name LAURA LEIGH!!! I guess she will thank us later!

I just NEVER thought about people pronouncing her name

like KARA except with an L...

Thanks Gran & MiMi for the advice tonight on the spelling.

Wow... who would have thunk it, lol.

Regardless, we love you our Little Laura Leigh :)

Naming Lara Leigh...

So coming up with a name for our sweet girl was not an easy task...

What I liked, Heath didn't and vice versa. However, he already chose a

name for L.L. over a year ago... We attended one of Heath's friends, Brent, wedding

and as soon as we sat down with the program, one of the bridesmaids name was

Laura Lee. He said I love that name and I said I do too. I actually

had never met anyone named Lara Leigh....He said that should be our

daughters name and I agreed also!

(Side note: Brent and his wife Alanna are also expecting a Baby Girl

only day's before Lara Leigh is due!!)

Well, over time, I really liked the name Mary Beth.

Heath, no so much though. I guess I liked it so much I tried to push Laura Leigh out of the way.

Well, at first I thought I was having a boy so it really didn't bother me as much about the girl

name but a few weeks before the ultrasound I had a dream about our Baby girl and

saw her name, Lara Leigh, on a bag. I told Heath, I said yep that's it...

Also, my mother's maiden name is Lee and I was VERY close to my Grandparents

who were also Lee's so that really confirmed it, along with the dream. I also looked up the

meaning of Lara: one meaning means CHEERFUL, another means

THE SMILE and another means FAMOUS.

Leigh: means GRACEFUL and MEADOW.
As far as the spelling, I just really like the way Lara Leigh looked
so this is why we went with a little different spelling.

So this is how we chose her name :)

Words can't even begin to express our excitement and JOY!

Lara Leigh Franks is her name and I pray that loving

Jesus and her mommy and daddy are her game :)

We are so in love with this sweet girl and are so thankful

and blessed to be LFL's parents :)

Thank you so much to everyone that gave to the family in need.

Since I have started working at my job, this has to be

the most in need family to come in my office.

The mother is wheel chair bound due to 9 strokes and

has no movement in her lower body. The dad has to

stay home to help the mom but if he could he would

be out there working an 18 hour day...

They have 2 teenagers and have even taken in another

one due to a bad home life that he was going through.

To see the look on their face as they walked into Greg's

office where the clothing and items were was...

well words can't express... The dad had to cover his face to hold back

the tears. I had to do all I could to hold back the tears also...

Hearing their story, hearing their heart to help out a teenager

and take him in when they hardly have anything...

It's days like today where nothing else matters...

I am broken and humbled...

I am in awe of how God can move and did move with prayer in

our office through people in the community giving selflessly...

Thank you so much to all of those that did.

And all of you that are in the weeks to come.

Today is the First Day of School for

Marion County Students!

The Lord received Glory for this 1st day

as students at MCHS lifted Him up by having prayer

before school this morning! It was awesome to see

these students starting their school year off right!!

In addition to JESUS being glorified,

this was the second year I got to get a picture with my niece

Hannah before her first day! This year she is in 8th grade!!

Can't believe it! I was just holding her in my arms seems

like a few years ago!! So proud of her!!

Baby Franks wanted to be in the picture too :)

I hope everyone out there is having a great first day!

in our future dining room, ok :)

Just as long as you can do this with them.....

In our future dining room, we have already found a dining room table and chairs

that we are in LOVE with!! Found it super cheap too!!
We are going for a rustic look in there

so the antler chandler would look great with it,
plus hubby can show off his hunting skills :)

Now he can never say that I haven't given him the change to

hang up his "finds" :) Hoping this idea can happen!!!

I had to post this and give a big thanks to God!

This week, I am 17 weeks pregnant!!!

I am starting to show more and more each day :)

My heart has been touched by so many things

this week and weekend....

1st: One of my Best Friends Baby's Arrival :)

3rd: The Youth Group at Church mean more to me

than they will ever know. I love each and every one of them

so much and I'm so thankful for the God Ordained opportunity

My heart was so blessed today by one of our clients from work.

She sees me outside on the way to help with food distribution and yells,

"Kimberly, Kimberly, do you know what you're having yet??!!"

She is so excited about our baby and I just love this sweet lady so much.

I would love to share more about her but I really can't due to privacy.

But I will say that she has a story that would bring anyone to tears and really

make you thankful for everything around you...

After talking a few minutes she says come to my car, I have something for you.

I told her she shouldn't have done that and to
please take them back but she refused.

She said some very kind words to me and said she wanted to bless me.

She gave me some diapers and wash cloths for the baby...

I cried...This lady has so little and all she can think about is giving.

Today reminded me of the passage in Acts:

Acts 4:32, 34-35 — “All the believers were one in heart and mind.

No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared

everything they had. There were no needy persons among them.

For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them,

brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and

it was distributed to anyone as he had need.”

I think we all have situations happen in our lives from

time to time to remind us of what is truly

important and to check where our focus has been...

My whole life God has been SO faithful to me...

I LOVE Him so much and the older I get the MORE I

Trust and Love Him.

My momma has always been one of my number 1 support

systems. To this day, she and Heath are always there

for me. Momma use to always say,

"Do your best and God will do the rest"

She put this in my High School annual on my page

and still tells me that a lot to this day.

I look back on my life when I didn't think something was

possible or when I simply didn't TRUST enough...

I guess that's why the older I get the more I trust

because I can look back on all the many times

I doubted and HE was still faithful and

did "the rest". I know that God is still

in the Miracle business and still faithful!

No matter what anyone ever says,

put your TRUST in Him alone and after you

have prayed about something for a while

and you feel in your spirit it's the right thing to do,

Go after it cause...

It's Here!

Second Trimester ENERGY is finally here!

I LOVE it!

I mean, don't get me wrong, I do have a few days or moments

when I feel like I'm back in my First Trimester.

But for the most part I feel so much better!

In fact I felt so much better yesterday that I found us a new, quick and

easy dessert to make! Yes y'all, I have energy again but

it just didn't happen to come along with amazing cooking skills

so I still have to find simple things to make :)

OREO SPLIT

It's YUM and very easy!!

I just got a brownie snack pack (2) and then put lite cool whip,

sliced the bananas then crumbled up oreos on top! Heath really liked it too!

It's not that fattening and is very refreshing.

Refreshing just like this energy and feeling so much better!!

It's LESS than a month now until we find out if we are having a precious boy or a girl.

And for that we are ecstatic!!!

This morning on the way to work I turned on the radio

and the song "More than Fine" by Switchfoot was on.

I really started listening to the words and the Lord spoke to me...

Below are the words from the main chorus:

More than fine, more than bent on getting by.

More than fine, more than just ok.

More than fine, more than bent on getting by.

I was just thinking, this is the mindset the Lord wants

us to live with. Not just being ok with getting by.

He wants us to strive for your dreams and goals in life!

Not only did this come to mind, but it also made me think

this is the mindset the Lord wants us to have about our

relationship with him too. Not just settling for having an "OK"

relationship with him. Not just getting by with going to church or

praying before a meal but WHOLLY living for God.

All of this made me think of what Heath and I are about to endeavor...

One of our dreams ( I will fill you in down the road)

We both have FULL confidence that the Lord has given us

this opportunity and that He will provide, give us favor and

open all the doors needed (literally)
God has not called us for just floating through life and not

ever going after our dreams and goals, so we are!!

I know as a soon to be parent, I will want THE BEST

for my children, to go after everything they want in life!

I will encourage them with EVERYTHING I have and

I know Heath will be the same way.

This is how our Heavenly Father thinks of us too!

Our Two Year Anniversary Trip

Heath and I were ALL smiles as we headed down to the

Coast to celebrate...

Our Two Year Anniversary!!

We had the best time and on the second night, we got to

meet up with one of my BESTest friends and her hubby Kurt

We had so much fun and boy how I wish that we all lived in the same town.

(Brandi really is like the sister I never had and I consider her & Kurt family)

B and I are both expecting and I can't wait to be an

Aunt to Baby Waid in December!!

Not only did we celebrate 2 wonderful years of LOVE,

we celebrated our most wonderful adventure yet,

Baby Franks :) We are SO excited that our next real vacation

will have a party of 3 and not just 2 :)

So of course of trip wouldn't be complete without picking up

some happies for our favorite person ever.

I LOVE the little crabie onesie and I can't wait to monogram a

name on that sweet outfit and blanket :)

(We ran across so many more precious outfits we wanted

to buy but will have to wait to see if Baby Franks is a he/she)

I was so excited to buy The Berenstain Bear book because

those were my FAVORITE growing up :)

and I plan on buying several for sweet Baby Franks.

These next goodies are from Aunt Brandi & Uncle Kurt!

LOVE them both and the hoodie/bath robe is just the cutest!!

Baby Franks

A lot of people have asked me what I think we are having.

Well, my instincts say......

But, we will be ecstatic also if....

We will find out for sure around Mid-August.

Since I have this instinct right now,

I have of course been looking around for

a possible wardrobe for our soon to be little one.

Here are a few of my favs so far:

These are just a FEW of the MANY things that I have

found in my searching.

No worries if it's a girl though, I have lots of

SUPER cute things archived!

I'm "sew" excited because as soon as we do find out if

sweet baby franks is a he/she,

my mom and I are going to the Fabric Store!

So blessed that she can sew and use to make my outfits

and will now get to make my babies :)

I also found a wonderful lady who monograms and is super affordable :)

Thank you sweet baby for such a fun opportunity b/c most

nights my pregnancy isn't so fun, lol (sickness)

But it's ALL worth it :)

Beach Baby

Cupcakes and a Conference

This past Friday and Saturday, I had the honor of

being nominated by our church to attend, along with our Pastor,

The United Methodist Annual Conference in Huntsville, AL .

This experience was new and different for me since I grew up

Southern Baptist and really remain "I love Jesus" (denomination)

in my heart... It was good though and I thought I would recap a couple

of mine and Baby Franks' parts of the trip!

1.) Baby Franks' favorite part (ok maybe it was one of mine too, ha)

I have REALLY been wanting to get my hands on one of these

things after hearing so many of my friends RAVE about GiGi's cupcakes

in Tuscaloosa. Well, on the way to find my hotel on Friday

afternoon the heavens were opened as I saw the lighted up

GiGi's sign. Baby Franks and I were so excited and

just knew that on Saturday we just "had" to visit

WOW... the Strawberry Margarita Cupcake is DELISH!

One of THE BEST things I have ever tasted in my life!

I know most of you have visited GiGi's but if you haven't, GO!

Especially if your preggo like me because after you eat it

you don't have as many regrets :)

2.) One of my most absolute favorite things about the conference was our

guest speaker on Saturday, Brian McLaren....

He was an awesome speaker and I highly suggest you check him out!

Below is one of the books he wrote and mainly what Brian talked

about was reaching the generation at hand right now and breaking

out of "tradition" He talked about how so many are tired of

being in the bondage of "church life" and want to experience so much

more! There is SO much more than "tradition" and worrying about the

condition of the building than the condition of people in the community/the lost

and the condition of the people in our church. I really wished he went

around speaking to every church in America....

If you have never heard of him, I highly recommend it! As soon

as I get done ready some of my mommy-to-be books,

I'm going to dive into the one below.

Ok, so we all know that Baby Franks is going to be a BAMA fan.

My Mom, Brother and Aunt Bonnie are going to make sure this sweet Baby

has all the right gear for He/She's first BAMA game!

This is a picture of the set that my Aunt Bonnie got for her Great Nephew/Niece!

How sweet and darn cute is this!! I didn't take a picture of my moms many Bama

things she has already purchased but I hope to soon. My Brother bought a

BAMA Nike Onsie and I can't wait to see it!

I am MORE than EXCITED to tell you of the greatest
news we have since sliced bread...

WE are having a BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Words can't express how overwhelmed we have been by all of your cards,

gifts, congrats, prayers and phone calls. This baby is already so loved...

Especially by their mommy and daddy :) (SO MUCH!!)

We have been floating on cloud nine and words just can't express
the JOY and HAPPINESS

that Heath and I are feeling right now. God sure has
blessed us and I love the prayer

time that Heath and I already have with this sweet baby each day...
(Insert tears)

I know one of the greatest things this baby is going to be blessed

with is such a great support system...

( I still haven't gotten around to pictures with many of our

closest friends and family but they are soon to come)

creates in us a capacity for the closest possible intimacy with God”

I love this quote, found it on the internet this week

and it's so true.

I have been meaning to add that the Extraordinary Women's

Conference in B'ham this past wkend was great!

I learned a whole lot and most importantly,

lots of womens lives were changed and saved.

That's what it's all about...

And speaking of humility from the quote above,

I got to speak with Lysa TerKeurst at the conference

for a few minutes and she is one of the most humble and

spirit-led Christian Speakers I have ever met. It wasn't about

signing autographs or being "seen" it was about praying with ladies

and actually listening to them and being in the spirit to speak

encouragment and life from the Lord into the lives of so many women.

I got to see this first hand because she was right by where I was most

of the conference. Thank you Lysa for being all about the Father's Business.

You truly are a Hero in the Faith like in the book of Hebrews.

I'm thinking that today,

my Mom is my Hero.

My whole life I have witnessed my mom always being

right there when anybody needed her, especially

through a tough time or tragedy. I always

remember her collecting money for some family

or having a coat or food drive.

So when she called me the other day with her newest

idea, I was not surprised...

She said Kim, I'm going to feed those people in Hackleburg a hot meal,

no matter what it takes, I'm going this Thursday and Saturday.

So... being my mom, she did make it happen.

She called around and got so many donations and volunteers to help

her and she set up a station at a church that is affiliated with the new

church that her and my dad just started going to (more on that in another post)

that fed over 300 victims/volunteers

a hot BBQ meal with all the sides and fixings.

She said it was such a blessing to just be there and lend an ear to the sweet people

that had just been through so much. I know the Lord
definitely receives all the glory for this

and we thank HIM for having all things work together.

I also would like to thank my mom for always teaching me one

of LIFES greatest lessons....

COMPASSION

Two areas in Marion County were severely effected by Wednesday's Tornadoes...

Hackleburg and Pea Ridge.. The devestation is awful and heartbreaking.

We are asking for your help in Spreading

"The Word"

by donating Bibles to the victims. The Bibles

are listed on the American Red Cross

"Wish List" For victims and I feel

like there is no better way to restore hope than this.

The Guin First Baptist & United Methodist Youth Groups
will be collecting and distributing the Bibles throughout Marion County.

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our

Last night, our youth group watched

Passion For The Christ...

I don't think I have ever seen that bunch set so still...

For some, it was there first time to watch and they

were so upset at what was being done to Jesus...

Well, we all were...

We watched the entire movie and of course

the end is my favorite part.

Well around 9 or so last night I get a text from

one of the youth saying,
"Kimbo, I was just sitting here thinking about that

movie and I was talking to God and all of a sudden,

I got real emotional (thinking of all He went through for us)

and realized how great God is and it feels like Jesus is

sitting right here with me right now and I have

never felt this feeling before and it is so awesome."

That's the POWER of the CROSS!!!

Thank you JESUS for bearing that cross for us

and the power and beauty and healing that lies within it!!

Supernatural

Not existing in nature or subject to explanation according to natural laws; not physical or material

My father and just the news that was told to us within a DAYS time is subject

to explanation and that explanation is JESUS. All last week, SUPERNATURAL

was everywhere I looked. In my quiet time with the Lord and on my heart.
The Lord was preparing me...

We didn't receive the best news this Monday about my dad....

To make a long story short, right after the news, my mom
broke down into tears,

I was about to myself and the Lord said SUPERNATURAL.

He became strong in me and my spirit immediately was filled with HOPE.

I had so many prayer warriors praying for SUPERNATURAL healing, Jesus,

and on Tuesday the other doctor came in and told us some news that

was subject to explanation.... We are SO PRAISING the name of JESUS

and giving HIM ALL THE GLORY!! Gosh, God is SO good and SO real.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus, I pray with all my

might that you do come to know Him. He loves you SO
much and is waiting for you!!!

After 10 days in the hospital this time, Daddy got to come
home today and we are so thankful!!!

All due to JESUS, the name that needs no explanation.....!!!!!
